Partouche restores €5m guarantee

Saturday, 8 September 2012

After a welter of criticism from players and the media Partouche has reinstated the €5m guarantee for its Partouche Poker Tour final.

Company chief Patrick Partouche said on Thursday that the stated €5m had not been a guarantee and that only €4.2m would be in the prize pool. Partouche yesterday released a statement clarifying the situation saying, “I do acknowledge that there may have been some misunderstanding caused by the way this event was promoted in the media and the confusion that has since followed. I have therefore asked the Partouche group to bear the consequences and make up the difference by adding €736,880 to the prize pool.”
