Partouche Poker Tour Day 1b complete - €1m for first place

Wednesday, 14 September 2011

Day 1b of the Partouche Poker Tour is done and dusted with a final field of 579 players. That’s almost 200 less players than Vanessa Selbst outlasted in 2010 to win €1,300,000 but despite that, a slight increase in the buy-in – from €7,750 to €8,500 – means that the winner of the 2011 event will still take home a cool €1,000,000.

Selbst is still alive and ready to defend her title going into Day 2. This is the woman who won the NAPT Mohegan Sun event in back-to-back years so we wouldn’t put it past her. Of course, she has some stiff competition on Day 2 as the list of notable survivors includes Chino Rheem, Olivier Busquet, Tobias Reinkemeier, Freddy Deeb and Joe Cassidy. Leading the field into Day 2 is the amazingly-named Giuseppe Pantaleo, who accumulated 265,000 chips on Day 1b.

Of the 579 players, there are 322 returning for Day 2 with 63 of them locking up at least €12,000. The final table is guaranteed to give nine players six figures with a million Euro for first place.
