PaddyPowerPoker.com has announced the first wave of venues holding live satellites for the €2 million guaranteed Irish Open 2007 event.
Dozens of Europe's leading card rooms are hosting satellites from January up until the start of the Irish Open main event from April 6 to 9, 2007 in the landmark Burlington Hotel, Dublin.
Dublin's Jackpot Club, the official card room for the Irish Open 2007, has satellites each Thursday from January onwards with a minimum guaranteed ticket worth €3,500. A full list of venues is available to view on the PaddyPowerPoker.com site.
This year's event, which will be filmed for TV, is the biggest in Europe with a €2 million guaranteed prize pool and a capacity for 700 players paying €3,300 (+€200 registration) to play over Easter Weekend 2007.
The organisers claim that the tourney’s historic legacy and reputation for camaraderie and “craic” set it apart from other major events in the poker calendar.
Last year, Dubliner Vincent Melinn won the €350,000 first prize in only his second ever live tournament which was broadcast across Europe.
