PaddyPowerPoker.com has announced that the last PaddyPowerPoker.com online qualifier standing at the Irish Open 2007 will win a seat at the World Series of Poker 2007 Main Event in Las Vegas as part of its popular “Paddy Last” competition.
Last year’s winner, Pat O’Callaghan from Sligo, picked up the €12,500 package to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) by outlasting over 48 other online qualifiers, coming 19th and winning an additional €6,000 in prize money.
Players who qualify for the Irish Open main event through PaddyPowerPoker.com’s weekly satellite tournaments are automatically entered into the competition to win the package.
This year’s Irish Open, which will be filmed for TV, is billed as one of the most prestigious in Europe with a €2 million guaranteed prize pool and a capacity for 800 players paying €3,300 (plus €200 registration) to play over Easter Weekend 2007 against some of the best poker players in the world.
