PaddyPower Holding Qualifiers to Irish Winter Festival.

Wednesday, 8 July 2009

Today at lunchtime PaddyPower will be hosting a satellite to enter the prestigious Irish Winter Festival, to be held in Ireland this October. This tournament is stage one, a low-rake $35+$3 entry that awards one seat to the main satellite for every $215 in the prize pool.

The tournament uses an easy blind structure, with levels increasing every ten minutes and players beginning the event with a 75xBB stack; 1,500 chips with blinds at 10/20.

The prize pool at this festival regularly exceeds €600,000 so a $38 qualification is a tasty investment if you win the whole shebang. Last year it was played at the Citywest Hotel, Dublin, the same place that the Irish Poker Open is played. If it’s good enough for the second-oldest poker tournament in the world then it’s got to be a nice place and the €4,000 package includes accommodation there throughout the tournament.

Play begins at 1.30pm GMT so if you’re at home or fancy your chances of getting away with it in the office, why not have a shot?
