Paddy Power have announced that the final table of the paddypowerpoker.com Irish Open 2006 will be broadcast live on Sky Sports on Easter Monday 2006.
A VIP audience will be present at the event which will be staged at a top secret location in Dublin. Six players will reach the final and will complete for a share of the £30,000 prize pool.
This will be the first tournament of its kind to be televised live from Ireland and Paddy Power believe that the arrival of the game on Sky Sports will help the game to develop along the same exponential path that it has in the US.
Poker is currently the third most watched cable TV sport in the US. Over 10,000 players will be competing for a seat at the Irish Open and Internet qualifiers will be joined by some of the biggest names in US and European poker.
