Paddy Power has launched ‘outright betting’ and ‘to make final table’ markets for three tournaments in May as well as the 2008 Irish Poker Open.
The Paddy Power head of communications explained: “After the huge success of the Irish Open we’re already planning the 2008 event and you can get your bets on now.”
“We will be launching loads of markets throughout the year so there can be no doubt that Paddy Power is now the home for betting on poker.”
Amongst the events available at Paddy Power are Season Six of the WPT and, expanding the market for local interest, the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) event in Brighton and the Waterford Open in Ireland which both run from 17 to 20 May 2007.
David Colclough won in the GUKPT in Manchester last month, but punters looking beyond the favourite in Brighton can choose from a list of over 100 runners. The Waterford Open will be a homecoming for two Irish Open finalists, Brian O’Keeffe and Nicky Power. They are both 10-1 to make the final nine in their hometown.
“Paddy Power will be expanding its poker offering throughout the year with numerous markets on a hugely increased schedule of events,” said a spokesman.
