PSStakes.com has announced the launch of a new poker staking website which is designed to bring together the talented poker player and the ballsy financial backer in a way that will benefit both parties.
The site will provide an arena for backers to offer funding, a “stake,” in exchange for part of the player’s winnings – effectively investing, poker style.
When asked why he began PSSstakes.com, founder Andrew Ferguson said, 'I feel there is a need to introduce those who are interested in staking people to the professionals and winning players out there that do not want to risk their own money or do not have a bankroll.'
The site apparently sets itself apart from similar sites by offering some assurance to the staker that the player they are backing is legitimate by consulting a statistical database which checks whether the proposed player’s return on investment record is positive. Additionally, stakers have the option of minimising the risk with stake insurance.
The service is free, although poker players have to pay a small-one of fee to join the statistical database which monitors their playing performance, updating their profile hourly.
