Spain may have taken the honours in South Africa but it was the Romanian team that was crowned the champions in The World Cup.

The Romanian sextet overcame a strong Polish team in a series of heads up sit and go matches to clinch the title by a score of eleven wins to seven with players ‘vreaubani’ and ‘jucatorulSS’ both undefeated.

“Spare a thought for the unlucky runners-up from Poland who fought bravely to reach the final yet leave empty-handed despite team member ‘adam3617’ going three-out-of-three in the final round,” read a statement from the Alderney-licensed site. “They deserve credit for a fine run but it's Romania who we celebrate as World Cup champions.”

As a result of Romania’s win, is offering any player from that nation who participated in any of its World Cup qualifying events the chance to take part in a special freeroll on Saturday night. It stated that there is set to be a prize pool worth $2,758 up for grabs between just 39 eligible entrants.
