London Calling under way London Calling under way

Tuesday, 12 October 2010

After all the high stakes action in London over the past month there's something to whet the appetite of players with a more limited bankroll in the form of the London Calling festival.

The month long extravaganza is now under way at the Fox Poker Club in London's Shaftesbury Avenue with a host of dealer dealt events with very affordable buy-ins. There are a total of 57 tournaments pencilled into the packed schedule which, in addition to the usual diet of no limit hold'em will feature PLO, PLO8, Heads Up events and a two day HORSE event. Rounding things off is a £300 Main Event. Marketing Director Simon Prodger said, “It’s been our ambition to put on an event like this for some time, and we’re delighted that London now has the perfect venue in which to do so. With regular buy-ins ranging from £20 ‘London Calling’ is for the huge number of people who’d love to play a high-quality, dealer dealt tournament but find most poker tours and festivals are too high for their bankroll.”

The full tournament schedule can be found at

With the vast majority of tournaments featuring buy ins of between £20 and £100 London Calling is a great opportunity for novice (and experienced) players to get a taste of tournament action in a great venue. We'll certainly be giving it a go.
