This weekend saw the likes of TV chef Jamie Oliver and former England international football player Teddy Sheringham take to the tables alongside WSOPE runner-up John Tabatabi to raise money for the One to One Children’s fund. The event, which was held at London’s swanky Sketch restaurant, was organised by PKR.com.
Participants at the event paid £365 for a champagne reception and buy-in to the tournament, which ended up with a first prize of £4,000. After the last river card was dealt, the winner was Leticia White, daughter of the famous chef Marco-Pierre White.
During the dinner break Ray Bitar, a CEO from Full Tilt Poker, was spotted bidding on some of the football jerseys which were auctioned. A signed Harry Potter book and a cameo in the next Terry Pratchett film were on offer as well.
Erika Schwartz, the marketing manager for PKR, said, “It was a fantastic night for everyone involved, and good to see so many people contributing towards such an important cause.”
