PCA Main Event and High Roller to be streamed 'as live'

Friday, 30 December 2011

Streaming of live events was one of the major trends in poker coverage in 2011 and that trend looks to continue in 2012 with PokerStars announcing that it will be live streaming the final tables of two of the biggest events at the forthcoming PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

Both the $10,300 PCA Main Event final table on 13th January and the $25,500 High Roller final table on 14th January will be broadcast, complete with hole cards, on a 40-minute delay. Coverage gets under way at 5.40pm UK time on both days with James Hartigan, Joe Stapleton and Daniel Negreanu in the commentary box. The shows will also feature freerolls, interviews and some special deposit bonuses.

20 players have already confirmed for the High Roller including Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier, Dan Shak, Daniel Negreanu, David Sands, Eugene Katchalov, Galen Hall, Isaac Haxton, Jason Mercier, Jonathan Duhamel, Masa Kagawa, Matt Glantz, Mike McDonald, Sam Stein and Scott Seiver.

Eugene Katchalov beat fellow Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu to the $1.5m first prize in last year's High Roller.

The 2012 PCA gets under way on Thursday 5th January with the $100,000 Super High Roller tournament. A further 40 events are scheduled with the $10,300 starting on Saturday 7th January.
