Online petition to legalise live poker in Northern Ireland

Online petition to legalise live poker in Northern Ireland
Wednesday, 18 January 2012

It turns out that the US is not the only country with suffering poker players, although in this case it is the live arena rather than the online game that is banned.

The gaming laws in Northern Ireland allow games of pure chance such as lotteries and slot machines but do not permit the playing of poker.

Poker is illegal to play in Northern Ireland even though the Magistrates Court does not recognise it as a game of skill.

You can help to change this by signing up to an online petition here.

The petition was published in December and, at the time of writing, there were just over 870 signatories. It takes just a few minutes to sign, so do your bit to promote the game we all love.
