From today, the software provider to CelebPoker.com, Boss Media, will change its currency from the US Dollar to the Euro stating that the stronger currency means better opportunities for players.
The online poker site said that, with the US market closed and the majority of players on the network based across Europe, a change to Euros as the main playing currency is seen as a positive move that will benefit CelebPoker.com and its players.
'The Euro is a much stronger currency than the Dollar at the moment, giving players the chance to effectively win a lot more money,” the site said in a press statement.
It said that all player accounts, pending bonuses, buy-ins and prize pools, will be shown in Euros as of today with poker tables within the software still offering a variety of currencies but with deposit and withdrawal transactions only being processed in Euros. In addition, the exchange rate for the currency changeover is that from the European Central Bank.
'Our first priority is to provide the best service possible to our valued online poker playing community and, as the majority of them are based in Europe, this move will be a really positive one,” said Linda Donovan, Poker Room Manager for CelebPoker.com.
“As most of our players currently use the Euro every day, the currency change is definitely a necessary move for CelebPoker. I am confident all of our players from around the world will also relish opportunity to play for bigger cash prizes and see this as a really positive move.'
