Online Player “t soprano” Bests Negreanu for Bracelet in WSOP Event #14
Monday, 8 June 2009

Eleven players remained in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold ‘em event after three days of action-packed poker. Of these, some famous names lurked – Daniel Negreanu, four-time WSOP bracelet-winner was the most recognisable.

After some time, five of the eleven remaining players were eliminated and the six-handed final table was set as follows:

Barry Shulman – 385k

Daniel Negreanu – 786k

Kevin Hong – 89k

Tommi Horko – 460k

Brock Parker – 606k

Kyle Ray – 429k

With the chip lead, Negreanu looked set to make it bracelet number five. However he lost chips in a series of big pots before reaching the heads-up stage against Brock Parker with a chip lead.

However, Parker ran hot at the best time before eventually Negreanu put the rest of his chips in with middle pair. However, Parker had flopped top pair and faded an unlucky river to take down the bracelet and $223,688.
