An online player has managed to land himself a seat at this year’s WSOP without handing over a cent. Known only by his username, Watson98, the player will take a seat at this year’s main event, via a lengthy series of freeroll tournaments at TruePoker.com.
The seat alone is worth $10,000 and he’ll get the chance to play alongside some of the biggest names in poker, as well as take the opportunity to mug up for the TV cameras. TruePoker have also announced that they will be sending more players to the WSOP for free through their WSOP4Free tourneys. The idea is to get new players to practice their card skills and see if they can take on the big boys in Vegas later in the year. The advantage of playing online at TruePoker is it’s 3D capability that means transferring to live play is that bit easier. Those who do make it to the WSOP aren’t then exposed as online players straight away.
