The Irish Poker Championships will be taking place in Galway, Ireland in early January, and time is fast running out to win a seat through the online satellites being held at PartyPoker.
The main $240 weekly satellite to the event has been moved from Tuesday to Sunday, 23rd December, designed to give players more time to get in on the event. One seat will be given away for every 25 entrants.
If $240 is a bit rich for you to pay directly, you can satellite into the weekly final from as little as $3, with these qualifiers running every day of the week. The package includes the $2,800 tournament buy-in, $1,000 spending money, accommodation at a luxury hotel and expenses for the airport transfer.
'Marcel Luske, Jon Kalmar and Robert Williamson III have recently booked their tickets for Galway and are expected to be amongst the favorites for the title,' said a PartyPoker spokesperson.
'One PartyPoker.com qualifier to watch out for is 22-year-old James McManus from Dublin. In a period of two months earlier this year, he went on a great run online winning a Mini Cooper S, a Nintendo Wii and $52,000 on the bad beat jackpot.'
Other pros who have shown an interest in playing are Padraig Parkinson, Bruno Fitoussi, Jan Sorensen, Roy Brindley, Ciaran O'Leary, Michael Keiner, Steve Wong and more.
The tournament takes place from 4th to 6th January at the Radisson Hotel and Spa in Galway, and will be recorded for broadcast on RTE, Ireland’s national broadcaster.
