Last week, rancher Augie Foxx of Oklahoma was treated to the best present a poker player could ask for – a trip to the Bahamas to hang out with WPT host Mike Sexton, learn from some of poker’s biggest pros and the chance to win a $160,000 grand prize.
Foxx took part in the WPT Boot Camp Battle for the Season Pass Caribbean Conference in the Bahamas, which welcomed 196 attendees and offered six great prizes for the winners of a concluding WPT Boot Camp tournament. Foxx won the tournament, and received the WPT Season Pass, giving him 15 buy-ins to WPT main events over the next three seasons and $14,000 for travel expenses.
Second place winner, Chris Stadler, won a $25,000 buy-in to the WPT World Championship in April, and the third place winner, Laurie Church, won a $10,000 WPT buy-in to the tournament of her choice.
In addition to a one day seminar hosted by a number of top poker pros including Mike Sexton, TJ Cloutier, Phil Laak and many more, the happy Caribbean campers had opportunities to socialise and pick the brains of some of their idols in the professional poker world.
