Nottingham: home of Robin Hood, the oldest football team in the world and the biggest card room in Europe. Now the English city is set to play host to the Gala Casinos British Poker Tour, the pinnacle being the £500 buy-in main event.
Day 1a will kick off on Friday 18th April, with Day 1b the following day. £5,000 added by the sponsor, bringing the prize pool to an estimated £150,000. The Nottingham leg is the second on the circuit, with Edinburgh welcoming 185 players to the opening stop on the tour.
Gala’s Casino’s tournament director, Robin Blair, said, “Throughout the tour we have tried to strike a balance between professional and amateur, making it open but still with a very high standard, which is why we can attract players like David Colclough and Joe Beevers as well as the casual players who qualify for a tenner or on a freeroll. With our open satellite structure and hefty prize pot we think we’ve got the mix just right.”
Details on qualification, as well as the full schedule, can be found here.
