Nick Schulman Takes Down WSOP Event #23 - $10,000 2-7 Draw.

Monday, 15 June 2009

Nick Schulman is already a big name in poker – with numerous cash game winnings as well as two World Poker Tour titles and $3.8m in career tournament earnings, he’s not to be tangled with.

However, until this year he didn’t have a WSOP bracelet. That’s changed, however, after he got through a tough field of 96 including John Juanda, Roland de Wolfe and Steve Sung in the $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Draw event.

He ended up defeating Ville Wahlbeck heads-up to take down the title and $279,742. As an aside, Wahlbeck is now a serious contender for the player of the year title – of the four $10,000 events he has played, he has made three final tables and won one. A staggering run.
