New name for GSOP

New name for GSOP

Known as the Grand Series Of Poker (GSOP) over its three-season lifespan, the popular live festival from Ongame, which is holding its fourth and final event of Season Three in Marbella today, is set to be rebranded as The Grand Live.

New owner Amaya Gaming revealed that the change of name is not set to affect the tour’s current structure or value but does mark the Canadian firm’s desire to keep the live events running.

Indeed, since the inception of the GSOP the average number of runners for each event has been around 400 while last year’s stop in Prague saw 590 players compete.

Although details for Season Four have yet to be released, the new name isn’t expected to cause a decrease in the numbers of runners.

“It offers players a truly premium experience including first-class hotel and casino for an affordable buy-in,” said Fredrik Lindberg, Poker Event Manager for Betsson.
