New blind structure at PCA High Roller pleases Negreanu

PokerStars, as we all know, listen to their customers. No double standards here, however, because it appears they listen to their Pros too.

Four-time WSOP bracelet-winner and overall tournament legend Daniel Negreanu has often complained about poor blind structures in big tournaments on his blog, but not this time.

The PCA organisers asked Negreanu’s opinion before finalising the blind structure for the $25,000 High Roller event won by Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier in 2009. Well, he’s happy. Instead of the 50/100 initial level and 50,000 stack of last year, the blinds will be fixed at 150/300 for the first four levels allowing for more deepstacked play.

"I think players are really going to enjoy what we did with the structure," Daniel writes on his blog. "I'm not suggesting ALL tournaments should start this way, but for a high roller event, I think it's clearly and absolutely the best way to go.”
