New biggest pot set – Isildur1 loses $3.4m to Antonius and Ivey

Isildur1 has gone from being a million dollars down to five million up to breakeven – the Swede engaged in multi-table battle against Patrik Antonius and Phil Ivey, losing over $3,000,000 to the two Team Full Tilt members including the first million dollar pot online.

Last week, the largest online pot was between Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Di “Urindanger” Dang when they got $723,000 in the middle with AA and KK. After Isildur1’s win and loss of $5m, that pot is no longer in the top ten.

Patrik Antonius won the largest ever online poker pot in $500/$1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha against Isildur1 – after 5-betting before the flop, Antonius bet just over half pot on a 2-4-5 board and saw Isildur1 shove. When both players got their money in, the pot totalled $1,356,947. Isildur1 had 6789 for a monster straight draw whereas Antonius flipped AAK3, holding the straight and a backdoor flush draw. The turn and river blanked out and gave the Finn online poker’s largest pot.

As consolation, Isildur1 managed to take a seven-figure pot of his own from Ivey, 4-betting pre-flop and checking behind on a Ks-Js-Jd flop. The turn bought the Td which saw a bet of $44,000 from Ivey, a raise to $177,000 and a call.

The rest of the money went in on a 5d river, with Isildur1 forcing Ivey to muck after showing KK45 for the nut full house. Ivey’s hand is unknown, but he could have had JTxx, AJxx, AQxx or any number of strong hands.
