New Team Event at APT Macau

Tuesday, 11 August 2009

The Asian Poker Tour appears to have found a new team event to match the forthcoming Caesars Cup in London. The Battle of the Nations is a three-man team event that will pit players from two countries against each other in six-handed play. The team that knocks out all the opposition team is the winner.

Australia, USA and Korea are the first countries to confirm. Current Aussie Millions champion Stewart Scott, who will feature in one of two Aussie teams said: “I am really looking forward to coming to The Asian Poker Tour Macau Festival. It is great to line-up alongside fellow Australian players for the Battle of the Nations. We have strength in depth, there’s no doubt that we are in it to win it!”

The Asian Poker Tour Ambassador’s ‘The Poker Pack’ recently confirmed their line-up for the event. JC Tran, Quinn Do and Nam Le make up an impressive looking USA team. Steve Sung, David ‘Chino’ Rheem and Kwang Soo Lee will be representing Korea.

JC Tran said “I am confident that with Nam and Quinn on board we have a good chance of taking this down. We’ll certainly have our eye on Korea with friends Chino, Steve and Kwang on board while the Australians look a serious proposition too.”

More teams are expected to confirm their attendance for the event, which takes places on Wednesday 19th August, shortly.
