In yet another indicator of people spending more of their spare time sweating over how they’re going to approach their next game of poker, Jonny Texas Productions has announced that they are to launch a new TV channel in the UK.
Broadcast on Sky Digital channel 187 every weekday evening from studios in Birmingham, the plan is simple: give the audience some live poker, a few celebrity interviews, some news and a bit of information on the UK and European poker scene.
The channel is part of a wider success story for Jonny Texas productions, owned by Birmingham-born poker player Jonny Texas (not his real name apparently), with an online poker room and a range of branded products already on offer. The aim is to entice people coming in from the pub to give up their usual football diet for something a bit more taxing on the grey matter. Whether the channel leads the charge to a round the clock poker network remains to be seen, but surely it’s only a matter of time.
