In another originally named show, Poker After Dark have paired up three of the young online talents in the game against three Main Event champions in a ‘Nets vs. Vets’ match-up.

As is the custom on the show, six players will sit down, each buying in for $20,000 and the winner taking it all. The players representing the up and coming online players are Tom Dwan, Brian Townsend and Andrew Robl, while the old guard of live pros are headed by Doyle Brunson. Texas Dolly is in good company though, as he is joined by Johnny Chan and Huck Seed.

With Brunson been very keen to show he’s happy to take on the online stars, as well as Chan’s fearless attitude at the table, this is sure to be an intense clash of old school versus new. The young players also have something to prove, with Tom Dwan in particular been a high-profile newcomer to the live poker scene. In this year’s NBC Heads-Up Championship, he eliminated Phil Hellmuth after three hands when his pocket tens sucked out on the rockets of The Poker Brat. Not backing down from the usual volley of Hellmuthian trash talking, Dwan offered to play any number of heads-up matches against the eleven-time bracelet winner. The confidence of ‘Durrrr’ alone should make for compulsive viewing.
