New Mac client for MPN

Online poker players with a preference for Apple products now have a wider offering of games and sites to choose from following the laucnh of a new Mac offering from MPN (formerly Microgaming Poker Network).

Running in the Adobe Air framework, the new Mac client has the same functionality as the MPN’s ‘instant play’ client and offers players a range of Hold’em cash games, Sit ‘n’ Go’s and scheduled tournaments.

“Mac users are an important segment, but for years operators have been turning them away because they haven’t had dedicated software,” said Lydia Melton, Head of Network Games at Microgaming. “The MPN is one of only a few networks to offer a Mac-specific client and we are excited to see the uptake from players.”

In addition to the new Mac offering MPN also offers a downloadable PC client, a web-based Flash client as well as an HTML5 client for mobile and tablet devices.

The first poker room to offer the new software will be Scandinavian site PaF.

“We are delighted to be the first MPN operator to go live with the Mac-compatible download software,” says Herbert Paradis, Head of Poker at Paf. “We know that our players who have Apple devices have been waiting for a downloadable client for some time, and now that we’ve joined the MPN, we are better able to meet our customers’ needs.”
