Bravo’s Celebrity Poker Showdown is gearing up for its fourth star-studded tournament. Following the news that it has found sponsorship for the $250,000 prize pool in Internet Service Provider, NetZero, (previous backers, Cingular, the cellphone people, pulled out recently concerned that celebrities’ drinking and (bleeped out) swearing might harm their brand), Bravo has announced that it is moving the show to Sunday nights.
The opening tournament to air Oct 10 will feature regular, Matthew Perry, Christopher Meloni ('Law & Order: SVU'), Stephen Root ('NewsRadio,' 'King of the Hill'), comic Sarah Silverman and 'Alias' star Michael Vartan. Also on the bill are such notables as Chevy Chase, Dennis Rodman, Macaulay Culkin, pro skater, Tony Hawk, and Kathy Griffin
The celebs will compete at No Limit Texas Hold ‘em for a chance to reach the final table and play for the $250,000 charity prize pool. As ever, Dave Foley and Phil Gordon will be there to call the action.
