The climax to a year-long series of tournaments, the 32Red.com Poker Masters Grand Final took place on Sunday 8th January. The winner was unknown player Chris Hall, known online as ‘NoflopsHomer’, who only joined 32Red.com Poker a matter of hours before the Grand Final began! For his troubles, Hall won $8,960 and a week-long holiday for two in Las Vegas.
In total, 161 players took part in Sunday’s Grand Final, with play carrying on late into the night. After 3 hours of final table action, Hall finally saw off his last challenger to claim the winner’s purse. Hall said after his biggest win, “I sat looking at the computer in shock for ten minutes. Then I woke my parents up, who thought that our car had been stolen! They didn’t believe me when I told them how much I’d won.” Chris added that he intends to take his Las Vegas trip in June so he can hopefully take part in the WSOP.
In other news from the tournament, top 10 finisher, David Hicks decided to generously donate almost a third of his winnings to a local charity. 32Red.com’s CEO Ed Ware decided to then to match Hick’s donation toward disabled children in Gibraltar. Hicks said of his donation, “I would just like to repay a little of the generosity that 32Red.com has shown to me.”
