Nevada Senate Judiciary Committee clears online poker bill

Wednesday, 25 May 2011

No big surprises that one of the first states to jump on the regulated online poker bandwagon is the home of Las Vegas – Nevada’s Senate Judiciary Committee has just cleared a “beta version” of an online gambling bill.

The amended bill asks the state to develop a licensing and regulatory process for the online poker business and have it in place should the federal government legalize Internet gambling.

After yesterday's approval, the bill now heads to the senate floor which could vote on the matter as early as later this week.
