Neil Channing to co-host Irish Poker Awards

Friday, 8 October 2010

Organisers at The Irish Poker Awards have announced that fan favourite Neil Channing will be special guest host at the forthcoming ceremony at the Regency Hotel in Dublin.

The awards, created to honour the top achievers on the Irish poker scene, are the culmination of an amazing weekend’s poker, as the International Poker Open descends on the Regency in Dublin from 15th to 17th October, with the awards rounding things off on the Sunday night as the final table plays to its conclusion.

The public are currently voting in their droves for their favourite players, card rooms, tournaments, bloggers, forums and poker leagues at www.theirishpokerawards.com, and one voter, selected at random will win a free seat at the IPO, courtesy of BoylePoker.com.

Despite being an Englishman, Neil Channing is a firm favourite in Ireland where he won the Irish Open in 2008. More recently, he picked a GUKPT title in Luton and was a whisker away from picking up a bracelet at the WSOP this year. His co-host for the night will be Bluff Europe magazine’s Michael Caselli.

“Normally when I go to Ireland it’s me winning an enormous prize,” said Channing modestly. “It’ll be a nice change to be handing them out this time.”
