Negreanu's Rules Rant

Negreanu's Rules Rant

Wednesday, 25 September 2013

After a recent hiatus Daniel Negreanu is back with another weekly rant and this week Kid Poker returns to his controversial departure from the EPT Barcelona High Roller for inspiration.

Negreanu's cards were instantly mucked after he wasn't in his chair for the start of a hand during the €10k buy-in event, causing Daniel to call the floor for a ruling. After explaining the situation the hand was killed. He then went all in blind on the very next hand and was eliminated. The Canadian did re-enter the event, eventually finishing second, but in this latest rant he outlines why he thinks the rule isn't player friendly.

Negreanu also echoes the thoughts of Dusk Till Dawn owner Rob Yong about keeping the game fun for amateur players and why the Tournament Directors Association should loosen some of its more draconian rules to help create a more friendly atmosphere to play in.
