Negreanu bets his left testicle on an improved tournament structure?!?

As we reported yesterday, Daniel Negreanu has been giving his views on who he considers to be the top 10 players on the World Poker Tour. It’s not just the players that have given Kid Poker pause for thought though. The WSOPE runner up was vexed at the blind structure used in the recent WPT event at the Bellagio.

What offended the Canadian so much was the opening few levels and especially the size of the antes. Writing on his blog, he warned players not to be “fooled by this absurd gimmick of "more chips means more play" because it is a flat out LIE!”.

The Bellagio structure was

50-100
100-200
100-200 (25)
200-400 (25)

Negreanu prefers

100-200
100-200 (25)
150-300 (25)
200-400 (50)

A tongue in cheek Negreanu then said, “I would bet my left testicle that if you polled a panel of rationale (sic) people, no one would think Jack's (tournament director Jack McClelland) blind jumps are better (than his proposals)”.

Negreanu isn’t the only top pro to take aim at the structure of some of the big tournaments. Andy Bloch recently Twittered his frustrations at the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E event at the Bellagio. See here

Whether the threat of a bet involving Negreanu’s testicle changes matters remains to be seen.
