Negreanu Joins the Streaming Revolution

Wednesday, 15 April 2015

After watching from the rail over the last few months, Daniel Negreanu has finally joined his fellow PokerStars pros in the Twitch universe.

Making his first foray into the live streaming arena last night, the Canadian pro kicked off his campaign with a play money session and within an hour he had more than 4,000 interested viewers.

Despite the stakes being fictional, Negreanu became an instant hit on platform. According to reports, his initial plan was to conduct a 15-minute test stream so that his channel is ready to rock and roll when he's in Canada.

However, that plan quickly went out of the window as thousands of players lined the virtual rail and began asking him questions. Happy to oblige, Negreanu answered questions on everything from his plans for the Twitch channel to specific hands he played on High Stakes Poker.

After three hours he finally called time on the session, but not before he'd demonstrated the pulling power of the live streaming service. Along with Negreanu, PokerStars now has a number of its pros, including ElkY and recent signee Jamie Staples, actively streaming on Twitch and looks as though the flow of entertainment will continue to grow in the coming months.
