A new tournament series called 'Poker & Pigskin' has been launched on the National League of Poker (NLOP) website.
The Poker & Pigskin tournament will run weekly through to January 8 2007. Registered contestants enter various NLOP poker contests and accumulate poker points as a reward for skilful poker play.
The NLOP site, which bills itself as being US-legal, allows registered users the opportunity to win cash and prizes without gambling. “Our advertisers and sponsors cover the prize awards and our players are afforded a free-to-play US-legal online poker experience,” explained Roy Evans, EVP of NLOP. “The Poker & Pigskin tournament series is our best ever with more than 4,000 prizes.”
Over $35,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded during the 10-week promotion including a $10,000 Seat to the 2007 World Series of Poker. NLOP will give away hundreds of dollars in cash prizes everyday.
The site hopes it will lure irked poker players following the recently passed Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. 'Millions of poker players are looking for a new home,' said Michael Clebnik, COO of Power Play which owns the NLOP. 'Our hope is that they will join the tens of thousands that have already found NLOP.'
