NBC’s Poker After Dark Omaha cash game begins

Tuesday, 12 April 2011

One of the most highly-anticipated events in televised poker history kicked off yesterday as NBC’s Poker After Dark took on its cash game format but with a twist – the stakes were $300/$600, higher than usual, and the game was Pot-Limit Omaha with a minimum buy-in of $100,000.

The line-up is a beautiful sight for railbirds as Brandon Adams, Patrik Antonius, Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Phil Ivey, Phil Galfond and Brian Hastings will be competing with millions in play and the high action guaranteed by PLO should be great viewing. Galfond and Hastings are surely two of the top three Omaha players in the world while Antonius and Dwan certainly sneak into the top five also.

Even PLO expert Brandon Adams admitted on the Two Plus Two forums that he is the fish in this line-up which goes to show the calibre of player at this table. You can view last night’s episode at NBC.com/poker and be sure to catch up on all the action throughout the week.
