NBC Heads Up Championship returns

NBC Heads Up Championship returns

Friday, 7 December 2012

One of the casualties from Black Friday was televised poker in the USA with many shows hit the rail. One will be back next year though according to a Tweet from production company Poker PROductions.

The NBC Heads Up Championship last appeared in 2011 but is set to return to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from 24 to 26 January 2013.

Neither the line up nor an airing date have been confirmed yet but Poker PROductions said that invites are 'going out'. Defending champion Erik Seidel is likely to be amongst the 64 runner field which also usually includes a sprinkling of celebrities, actors and sports starts as well as top poker pros.

The Seiborg pocketed $750,000 after beating former WSOP Main Event winner Chris Moneymaker in the 2011 final. Former winners include Huck Seed, Phil Hellmuth, Paul Wasicka, Annie Duke and Chris Ferguson (we don't expect to see Jesus gunning for a second title though).

A possible return for the ever popular High Stakes Poker seems unlikely though as when asked about a possible return, Poker PROductions replied that there was 'nothing on the schedule'.
