Music and Magic at Poker in the Park

Wednesday, 3 August 2011

This year's Poker in the Park is less than a month away and organisers have revealed some of the attractions that visitors can look forward to at this year's event.

As well as the usual great poker action, this year's festival will feature Rat Pack inspired music from The Swinging Little Big Band. Also appearing on the Main Stage will be an array of magicians and 'card ninjas' performing amazing feats of card manipulation.

Chess experts Malcolm Pein and Simon Williams will be taking on all comers in a speed chess challenge with members of the public able to take on celebrity poker players in a special series of heads up matches.

The Main Stage will also be the venue for the British Poker Awards where the great and the good of the UK scene will be honoured. You can register your vote at thebritishpokerawards.com.

This year's Poker in the Park takes place on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd September at London's Hanover Square, a two minute walk from Oxford Circus. Visitors can expect the usual great mix of sit n go tournaments, expert tuition and lectures from some of the biggest names in the game as well as the opportunity to bag some poker swag at bargain prices.
