More big names added for $1m One Drop

Friday, 8 June 2012

A total of 42 players have found the huge $1m buy-in for the Big One for One Drop tournament at this year's World Series of Poker. Among the latest names confirmed to be taking part by tournament organisers are Ben Lamb, Jason Mercier, David 'Viffer' Peat, Noah Schwartz and Sam Trickett.

They will be joining a stacked line up that includes Patrik Antonius, Gus Hansen, Tom Dwan, Tony G, Jonathan Duhamel, Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier, Erik Seidel and a variety of deep pocketed businessmen.

The prize pool is expected to top the $35,000,000 mark with the winner taking home an enormous eight-figure pay day – larger even than the record-breaking $12 million Jamie Gold pocketed at the 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event.

$111,111 for each million dollar buy-in will be donated to ONE DROP with a goal of raising enough money for a legacy project that will help a country gain access to clean water. The rest of the money will go directly into the prize pool.

The three-day event takes place from 1st to 3rd July 2012.
