Moorman Cruising at WPT DTD

Moorman Cruising at WPT DTD

A late flurry of entrants in the £3,000 WPT UK Main Event inside Dusk Till Dawn Nottingham yesterday saw the Day 2 starting field jump from 170 to 191 before play restarted.

However, with only 30 big blinds to play with, the new entrants had their work cut out trying to catch one of the overall leaders, Adrian Mateos.

The young pro started the day well placed and by the time just 51 players remained he was back on top. Thanks to some well-timed moves and careful aggression, Mateos was able to rake in 560,500 chips to finish ahead of Ben Warrington (527,000) and Christos Kyprianou (525,500) on the daily leaderboard.

Also making it through the session was Jake Cody and one of the toughest online grinders in the word, Chris Moorman. Although Moorman will start Day 3 somewhat off the pace, he's already found a reason to smile thanks to a royal flush bonus he received on Thursday.

Moorman Royal Flush

Midway through the session the British pro found himself flopping a royal flush and taking down both a healthy stack of chips and a cruise for two on the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas cruise liner.

Today's session will play past the 45th man bubble and down to around 24 players before the clock is paused ahead of the penultimate day on Saturday.
