Monte Carlo returns to Dusk Till Dawn

Monte Carlo returns to Dusk Till Dawn

Thursday, 21 October 2010

It may not quite be the French Riviera but players at Nottingham's Dusk Till Dawn will be able to get a taste of Monte Carlo at the award winning venue this December.

The midland card room will be hosting it's £1,000+£90 Monte Carlo event from 17th to 19th December with the prize pool guaranteed to be at least £200,000. The field for the two-day event will be capped at 333 runners with stacks starting at 30,000 chips. The tournament will be filmed with a potential airing on a mainstream channel in the pipeline.

DTD live poker director Simon Trumper said, "This will be our third year running this event. We realise its pretty close to Christmas, and there have been a number of major events in London over the past month. However, the date has worked very well for us so far. It doesn’t clash with any other major tournaments, and it falls nicely on the clubs 3rd birthday! We will announce a number of live and online satellites over the next few weeks which will allow players to qualify for a fraction of the buy-in."

Local favourite Waheed Ashraf took last year's Monte Carlo title, pocketing a first prize of £93,113.
