Chris Moneymaker has signed up to become the new face of the Hollywood Poker Open (HPO).
2003 WSOP World Champion and PokerStars stalwart recently spoke about his new role as ambassador for the live event and explained that he's a fan because the tour's structures "allow you to actually play poker."Off the back of the announcement, the HPO also confirmed that its third season will kick off in November with a $1,115 Main Event at the Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Moneymaker is himself a former HPO champion with a win back in March where he took down the St Louis Main Event for $36,259. For the following season, Moneymaker will travel the US with the HPO and play each of the Main Events, including the season finale which was won by the UK's Simon Deadman last year after he overcame 692 entrants to win the $351,097 to prize.Commenting on his new role, Moneymaker said: "I had such a blast playing this series. Every event this past season seemed to grow and I thought it was really cool that you started to see some of the same people showing up at different stops. This tells me the word is getting out that these structures are really player-friendly and the vig is lower than their competitors. It was an easy decision when they asked me to come back and represent them for Season 3."
