Mohammed Suhail wins Fox Main Event

Tuesday, 9 October 2012

81 players were on hand at the Fox Poker Club over the weekend for the October leg of the club's Main Event. The healthy field meant that the £25k guarantee was easily exceeded and after two days of action it was Mohammed 'Dr Ash' Suhail who took the honours.

After Canadian Kyle Wilson was eliminated in third place, Suhail agreed a heads up chop with Roland Redhead that saw both players take £8,905 with 'Dr Ash' taking the title.

The most notable name at the final table was James Mitchell who was well placed for another deep tournament run. The former Irish Open winner ran into trouble when his aces were cracked by pocket eights (which hit runner, runner for a straight). The Londoner departed soon after in ninth when his A10 couldn't overturn Wilson's kings.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1st – Mohammed Suhail £8,905
2nd - Roland Redhead £8,905
3rd – Kyle Wilson £4,540
4th – Mike Conway £3,240
5th – Tim Wong £2,270
6th – John Curtis £1,620
7th - Yigit Islisoy £1,300
8th - Stephen Lockett - £970
9th – James Mitchell £650

The next £400+£35 Fox Poker Club Main Event takes place on 3rd and 4th November. The Fox is also the venue for the £1,500 Genting Poker Series Grand Final which features a guaranteed prize pool of £200,000. Qualifiers are up and running at Genting Poker.
