Mobile Poker Game a Huge Success for Hands-On Mobile

Hands-On Mobile has announced that its 'World Poker Tour (WPT): Texas Hold 'Em' mobile game has been ranked number one in revenue share among all other mobile poker titles, and number five in revenue share among all mobile titles overall in Q2 2006.

The research, carried out by Telephia, also shows that nearly 13.5 million wireless subscribers download mobile games, with quarterly mobile game downloads revenue reaching $141 million in Q2 2006. Hands-On Mobile secured a 2.2 per cent revenue share for WPT: Texas Hold 'Em and an 8.2 per cent share for total publisher revenues for Q2 2006.
'We are pleased to retain our number one market share position in the highly competitive mobile poker category,' said Paul Baldwin, vice president of marketing at Hands-On Mobile. 'We intend to maintain and expand our leadership position through consistent and innovative marketing campaigns that drive sales with both the core and casual mobile game consumer.'
Hands-On Mobile reports that some 10 million hands have been played since the game’s March 2005 launch and says that over 200,000 multiplayer hands are played each week, with an average of 20,000 users per day playing for 15 minutes. The company will expand later this year with the release of 'WPT: Seven Card Stud.'
