Mizrachi and Marchese join One Drop field

It seemed unlikely when it was announced that a $1m buy-in event would fill a 48-runner cap but it looks like the Big One for One Drop is heading that way with Michael Mizrachi and Tom Marchese the latest names to sign up.

Mizrachi pocketed $1.4m after winning the $50k Players Championship and invested $1m of it in a seat in the Big One where the winner stands to take home $16m. He will be joined by WPT Championship Super High Roller winner Marchese who also added his name to the start sheet yesterday.

One name that will be missing though, according to ESPN, is Andy Beal. The banker, whose super high stakes, heads up matches against a team of top pros were immortalised in Michael Craig's 'The Professor, the Banker and the Suicide King' is said to be sitting out this bankroll busting encounter.

Tournament organisers have neither confirmed nor denied Beal's absence but all will no doubt become clear tomorrow.

We caught up with tournament founder Guy Laliberte to talk about the Big One for One Drop (and much else besides). Read the full interview here.
