It’s been a very good couple of days for Mike Sexton. Not only has he reached the final table of the World Open V, he’s also been voted into the Poker Hall of Fame.
Sexton was the only candidate on this year’s ballot to receive sufficient votes from the 15 living members of the Poker Hall of Fame and a 15-person media panel. His induction is scheduled to take place during the final table festivities at this year’s WSOP Main Event final table on 7th November. The 62-year-old’s best tournament win was probably the WSOP Tournament of Champions event in 2006 where he defeated Daniel Negreanu heads up. Sexton later donated half of his $1m prize money to five charities. He also founded PokerGives.org, a not for profit organisation that offers poker players an easy way to give to charity. Sexton, despite tournament winnings of over $2.7m, is arguably best known for his work in the commentary booth though, fronting coverage of World Poker Tour events.Other candidates on this year’s ballot were former World Champions Dan Harrington, Tom McEvoy and Scotty Nguyen plus Barry Greenstein, Phil Ivey, Men Nguyen, Daniel Negreanu and Erik Seidel.----------------------------------------------------------------------------Exclusive Bluff Sign-Up Bonus of the Week!200% sign-up bonus up to $600 with William Hill - the biggest sign-up bonus offer on the web for William Hill (and it's a whole 100% more than Pokernews.com!)
