He’s been a as been a gymnast, ballroom dancer, and paratrooper in the U.S. Army. He’s also one of the most recognised faces in poker, having fronted the World Poker Tour with Vince Van Patton. Now Mike Sexton is going to hope his cards are live and his pots monsters when he takes to the tables at the Party Poker World Open.
The fourth World Open, taking place in London between 25th April and 2nd May, will see Sexton clash with the likes of Neil Channing, Ian Frazer, Roy ‘The Boy’ Brindley and Thomas Bihl.
Perhaps wary of Channing’s recent bookie bashing, a spokesman for PartyBets.com explained, “There was no choice but to make Neil Channing favourite to win considering his form but he does have a strong heat featuring his pal Mick McCool.” The 16/1 seems a very short price in a field which includes Ben Roberts, Andrew Feldman, Surinder Sunar and some other very strong European opposition.
A total of 72 players will line up for the $8,000 buy-in event trying to win the first prize of $250,000.
Matchroom Sport are organising the event, which will be shown in Channel Five in the UK later in 2008.
