Mike Matusow Leads WPT Festa al Lago

The World Poker Tour Festa al Lago $15,000 event began yesterday, with the inaugural late registration for a WPT event applying on Day 2 today. This meant only one Day 1, that saw the fall of many top names but another take the lead – Mike Matusow, Full Tilt Pro and multiple WSOP bracelet-winner, is ahead of the field on 224,200 chips.

Joe Sebok, Daniel Negreanu, Antonio Esfandiari and JC Tran were eliminated during the first flight of players, alongside 44 others. Overall, almost 250 players turned out for Day 1 and far more are expected tomorrow.

Mark Seif is right behind Matusow, holding 222,425. Jason Somerville is in hot pursuit of him, followed by Jonathan Little who completes a star-studded top ten.
