Friday, 22 July 2011

Season ten of the World Poker Tour got off to a low key start with a largely unknown field (with apologies to Tony G, Toby Lewis, John Eames and Dominik Nitsche) hitting the tables in Slovenia.

A total of 141 players bought into the €3000 Main Event with Miha Travnik taking the honours. Travnik overturned a three to one chip deficit to defeat Italy's Vincenzo Natale heads up, sealing the title when his AJ held up against Natale's K8.

Travnik pocketed $144,399 and a WPT Championship seat worth $25,000 for the win with Natale taking home $99,481 in second.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1 Miha Travnik $144,399
2 Vincenzo Natale $99,481
3 Johanes Korsar $68,244
4 Ferdi Ciorabai $51,077
5 Gaetano Fortugno $40,524
6 Marcello Maligniano $32,926

The next stop on the World Poker Tour is the Legends of Poker event at the Bicycle Casino in California from 25-30 August. Closer to home is the WPT Grand Prix de Paris from the Aviation Club from 5-10 September. Qualify for both events with a 100% bonus up to $600 at PartyPoker.com. Sign up here.
