MicroMillions V sees first wins

The fifth edition of the MicroMillions online poker series from PokerStars kicked off yesterday with the initial five events of its bumper schedule.

First to step into the limelight and claim their place among the MicroMillions V elite was Cypriot grinder ‘aelole1010’, who managed to overcome 62,228 other runners to claim the no-limit hold ‘em eleven-cent buy-in contest and its $2,324 prize.

With a guaranteed prize pool of $15,000, the early action for the first event was frantic as players re-bought stacks at an alarming rate. Indeed, by the time the re-buy period was over, an impressive 271,598 rebuys and 25,320 add-ons had pushed the prize pool to $35,914.

Having smashed the guarantee, ‘aelole1010’ was able to pick up the top prize after beating the Czech Republic’s ‘Sederyck’ heads-up although the runner-up is likely not to have been too downhearted after banking $1,645.

The second MicroMillions V event saw Canada’s ‘POKERDUUDE’ bank $17,258 after triumphing while ‘Gizmey.777’ took the series’ third contest for $10,560 with the fourth and its $11,214 cash prize belonging to ‘Tii-eex’.

The action is set to continue until July 28 with Bluff Europe readers able to download the PokerStars software and receive a bonus worth up to $400 by clicking here.
